ELVAX™ 40W is an ethylene‑vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer produced by Dow, with 18 wt% vinyl acetate content, melt flow rate of 40 g/10 min (190 °C/2.16 kg), density of 0.941 g/cm³. It contains BHT antioxidant stabilizer.
Its low melt viscosity enables easy blending with waxes, tackifiers and polymers to formulate hot‑melt systems. It provides good peel strength and cohesive strength for adhesive formulations.
Typical applications: hot‑melt adhesives, wax blending, polymer modification, masterbatch carrier, coating compounds, sealants. Main processing: melt blending, extrusion compounding.
Product Application
EVA is mainly used in the fields of foam shoe materials, functional greenhouse films, packaging film, hot melt adhesives, wires and cables, and toys.
Mitsui/Dow
ELVAX ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer resins add toughness and flexibility to industrial, consumer, and packaging applications. Advantages of ELVAX™ inindustrial and con- sumer applications include inherent toughness, resilience, better flexibility than low density polyethylene overa broad temperature range, and excellent environmental stress crack resistance.
