ELVAX™ 250 is ethylene‑vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer manufactured by Dow (originally DuPont), containing 28 wt% vinyl acetate content, melt flow rate of 25 g/10 min.
This medium‑flow high‑VA EVA grade delivers high polarity, excellent flex‑crack resistance and good clarity. It provides strong adhesion to paper, foil, metal and various polymer substrates, and shows outstanding compatibility with waxes, tackifiers and other polymers for adhesive and compounding systems. Compared with W‑series grades, ELVAX 250 has no slip agent, avoiding slip‑agent migration issues for certain end‑products. It maintains good low‑temperature flexibility and cohesive strength, and meets FDA 21 CFR 177.1350 requirements for qualified food‑contact applications.
Typical applications: hot‑melt adhesives, sealants, wax modification, polymer compounding, masterbatch carrier, wire & cable compounds, injection molding, profile extrusion and industrial blending. Main processing methods: melt blending, extrusion compounding, injection molding, extrusion
Product Application
EVA is mainly used in the fields of foam shoe materials, functional greenhouse films, packaging film, hot melt adhesives, wires and cables, and toys.
Mitsui/Dow
ELVAX ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer resins add toughness and flexibility to industrial, consumer, and packaging applications. Advantages of ELVAX™ inindustrial and con- sumer applications include inherent toughness, resilience, better flexibility than low density polyethylene overa broad temperature range, and excellent environmental stress crack resistance.
