ELVAX™ 220W is a high‑flow ethylene‑vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer originally from DuPont (now Dow), featuring 28 wt% vinyl acetate content, melt flow rate of 150 g/10 min.
This high‑VA high‑flow EVA grade delivers high polarity, excellent adhesion to paper, foil, metal and various polymer substrates. It exhibits good low‑temperature flexibility, low‑odor performance and outstanding compatibility with waxes, tackifiers and other polymers for hot‑melt adhesive formulations. Its moderate‑high melt flow enables easy blending and good processing window for hot‑melt systems. It complies with relevant food‑contact regulations under proper usage conditions.
Typical applications: hot‑melt adhesives, wax modification, sealants, polymer compounding, masterbatch carrier, wire & cable compounds, industrial blending. Main processing methods: melt blending, extrusion compounding.
Product Application
EVA is mainly used in the fields of foam shoe materials, functional greenhouse films, packaging film, hot melt adhesives, wires and cables, and toys.
Mitsui/Dow
ELVAX ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer resins add toughness and flexibility to industrial, consumer, and packaging applications. Advantages of ELVAX™ inindustrial and con- sumer applications include inherent toughness, resilience, better flexibility than low density polyethylene overa broad temperature range, and excellent environmental stress crack resistance.
